Judge Birtukan Mideksa is the vice chairperson of Kinijit. She has served as a judge in Ethiopia. During her judgeship she has shown courage and integrity by ruling the ex-defense Minister of Ethiopia and a strong foe of Prime Minister Meles zenawi to be free.

Ato Siye Abraham is a well respected person among the rank and files of the TPLF fighters. Many give him credit for the sweet and heroic victory of Ethiopia over the devilish regime of Ato Issayas Afeworki.

Ato Siye is seen as a hero by many Ethiopians from Tigray. The vice chairperson of Kinijit has protected the right and dignity of the man respected and loved by the majority of Tigryans. (This by itself is one solid proof that the leadership of KINIJIT is friend of Ethiopians from Tigray contrary to the big lies of the TPLF cadres)


Judge Birtukan has tried to teach Prime Minister Meles Zenawi and his cadres the rule of law. What a courage !!!!

On top of this , vice chairwoman Birtukan Mideksa has been consistently showing courage and leadership from kaliti prison.

Judge Birtukan is a mother of a baby child. As many of us she could be out of prison easily by agreeing to the demand of the ruling party. However, she sacrificed the benefit her child can get by having his mother by his side, because she loves her country. There is no additional benefit that she got that we did not get from Ethiopia. However she stood for her principles, her faith and her law ethics.

Judge Birtukan deserves our support. We should not sleep until we see her released. Let 1999 be the year where Dagmawit Taitu can freely play with her kid. Let 1999 be a year where all Ethiopians get mobilized and fulfill their historic responsibility to save Kinijit and Ethiopia. let 1999 be the year where Ethiopians, particularly those in the diaspora be freed from their bondage, the bondage of insensitivity, the bondage of selfishness, the bondage of identity crisis, the bondage of empty pride, the bondage of arrogance, the bondage of petit talk. Let 1999 be a year where Ethiopians become like the jews who labour day and night for safety , prosperity and security of the State of Israel. Let 1999 be a year where Ethiopians become people of action and results.

Shame on us for not doing enough to free Judge Birtukan Mideksa. Let 1999 be the year we can be proud of.

The People of Tigray these days is being a scapegoat for the evils done by few in the ruling party. Many says that the People of Tigray has benefited from this regime. It is right there are few buildings built in mekelle. It is right some people from that region are in key positions in Ethiopia. However, we need to look at the other side. The people of Tigray is being ruled harshly and with an iron fist by the regime. Millions are still in terrible poverty. Only a group of families have benefited.

It is a mistake to associate the whole people with the very few.

The people of Tigray need to be engaged and reached out. We need to bring them to us away from the TPLF. The TPLF rulers are playing with the mind of many innocent Tigryans by spreading false and deceptive information about Kinijit. They have been frightening the people by presenting Kinijit as a monster that is coming to devour them.

Ladies and gentlemen, these lies has to be dealt with. We need to go to the People of Tigray, streach our brotherly hands to them and show them with love and respect that we care for them. We should start a heavy public relation campaign to undo the work of the TPLF cadres. They need KINIJIT. KINIJIT is their only hope. KINIJIT is love. KINIJIT is Ethiopiawinet.

Reliable sources have confirmed that the government in Ethiopia has already completed preparation to transfer Dr Berhanu Nega from Kaliti to Kerchele prison with the intention of keeping him in solitary confinement. A special room has been built for this purpose.Those who are already in these confinements are experiencing severe health problem. Due to the coldness of the place associated with the cement floor they feel permanent numbness specially to their feet. Considering the already existing heath problem that Dr Berhanu has, this is indeed a very grave matter that needs your immediate attention.

Let all Ethiopians fulfill its responsibility to making sure the elected mayor of Addis Ababa is safe and quickly released from prison.

Kinijit is more than a political party. Before the May 15 2005 election Kinijit was merely a political party like the UEDF and EPRDF. After the November 1 2006 incarceration of Kinijit leaders, Kinijit has transformed itself from being a political party to being a symbol of resistance.

Why is Kinijit so different than others ? Why has it managed to get the love and respect of the majority ? The answers are easy . It is because:

1. It respects the people
2. It values the right of individuals
3. It does not compromise the Unity of Ethiopia
4. It does not believe in armed struggle
5. It empowers citizens
5. It accommodates all Ethiopians and is inclusive
6. It does believe in forgiveness and reconciliation and rejects the politics of hate and revenge.

Kinijit's vision is great and the only way for peace to Ethiopia. If kinijit fails the alternative is bloodshed and disaster. We cannot afford to loose Kinijit. Therefore I call for all Ethiopians to support Kinijit. Supporting Kinijit is not being involved in politics. Supporting Kinijit is helping Ethiopia. Supporting Kinijit is avoiding wars in Ethiopia. Supporting Kinijit is helping Ethiopia come out from its darkness.

Kinijit relies on the grass root support it gets from the people. (both inland and in the diaspora). Kinijit does not have an army. Kinijit does not have the support of a super power. Kinijit can succeed only and only if each one of us are active in our own way.

Some of us may say :" There is nothing I can do to help Kinijit". Ladies and gentlemen, there is something you can do. Please don't let yourself away from the struggle. At least you can pray. That is by itself a big contribution.

All of us has to be involved. All of us. We need to support Kinijit.
